АZ BUki , a Bulgarian national weekly for education and Science, Sofia, 5 – 11 April, 2012.
WE ENTERED A WORLD NETWORK FOR ROAD SAFETY
Teenagers from the capital’s 138 th ‘Prof. Dr.Vassil Zlatarski’ started an organized struggle against road vandals. They made a sociological investigation among about a hundred youngsters of their age to prove that the state must take the problem to heart. The teenagers themselves formulated the questionnaire for the inquiry, made copies of it, summed up the results and submitted them to the institutions.
The children demand pedestrian paths on the two streets, where the school is, to be lined with ‘sleeping policemen’. The project is supervised by the English language teacher Teodora Gospodinova and supported by the director of the school Magdalena Krusteva.
The aim is the young ones to get engaged with achieving changes in their community, concerning safety of traffic on the roads and mobility.
The victors in this international challenge will get the chance to share their ideas and join an international forum, which is to take place in Paris, in June 2012. The project supports the UN initiative for a Decade of action in the field of road safety. The 138 th school ‘Prof. Dr. Vassil Zlatarski’, as the only Bulgarian school which signed the European Charter for road safety, joined the project and the international school network.

БГ тийнейджъри влизат в Уour ideas – Your initiatives BG
